'BAΓO OAPAYPANO O-OOZOPKO KOÞANO ÞAYO ('His Majesty, Bahram, Great King of the Kushan' in Bactrian) Bahram standing front, head to left, wearing a crown with a ram's head, holding trident in his left hand and sacrificing over altar with his right; in field to left, trident; to right, flower symbol over tamgha; between legs, swastika. Rev. 'BOPZOOANDO IAZAΔO' ('The illustrious God' in Bactrian) Shiva standing facing, holding diadem in his right hand and trident in his left; behind, the bull Nandi, his companion, standing left. ANS Kushan 2416. Cribb, Kidarites, pl. 2, 6. A beautiful and well struck piece with an unusually complete reverse. Minor edge crack and some die rust, otherwise, extremely fine.
